We are thrilled to celebrate Cynthya, who was recognized as one of LEARN Student Support Services' Paraeducators of the Year - and went on to be named LEARN's agency-wide Paraeducator of the Year 🎉 A colleague shared this of Cynthya; "she is someone who consistently puts students first". She isn't afraid to step into challenging situations, supports her colleagues, adapts when things don't go as planned, and provides stability when it's needed most. "She doesn't simply ask 'what is my job?' She asks 'what do our students need and how can I help?'" Cynthya's impact is a reminder that some of the most meaningful progress begins with something simple and powerful: trust, consistency, and believing in student's potential 💙 Congratulations Cynthya! Congratulations to Serenity, who was honored as Ocean Avenue LEARNing Academy's Student of the Year for 2026 with the Rotary Club of New London 🏅🎉 Serenity was presented with her award at the Rotary Club Meeting alongside her family and some OALA staff members. She was eager to accept her award and proudly took the mic to share that she helps to take care of her classroom, she loves to make people laugh, and works hard to maker her school a better place! We are incredibly proud to see the growth that Serenity has experienced this year and can't wait to see what her future holds!
